Top 5 Personal Finance Hacks

1. Use cash 💸

Using cash to pay for transactions can also be a great way to budget — and to confront where you’re spending your money. When using cash, you physically open your purse, versus simply swiping or tapping a card. You’ll be much more likely to consider whether you really need that $4.50 latte. 😉

2. Take steps to actively shift your thinking around financial freedom 🤔

In order to achieve financial freedom, you have to first change your way of thinking about money. This means doing things like embracing delayed gratification, and reducing impulsive buys. It feels good to live within your means — and being able to put some money aside allows for greater financial freedom in the long run (more on that below).

3. Pay yourself first and have an account for fun money 💰

Always make sure to pay yourself first before you do anyone else, because when you have savings you could be more relaxed and happier. You will make decisions in a more calm and objective state of mind and generally wiser.

4. Get rewarded for regular spending 😎

Many people have done extensive research on how you can use your day-to-day spending to let you travel for free among other perks. Lots of major credit cards offer rewards programs (just make sure you pay off the balance in full each month!). In addition to travel perks, you can also get points for spending, which can lead to further benefits — cash back, gift cards, you name it. Perfect timing for those sneaky summer trips…

5. Spend less where you can 👀

Let’s face it: we’re all guilty of spending money on subscriptions that we don’t really use, whether it’s that foreign affairs magazine you haven’t opened for six weeks or the expensive gym membership you haven’t used for six months. It’s a good idea to sort through these subscriptions every once in a while to make sure that you’re not wasting money on a service you don’t even benefit from.

How Many Credit Cards Should You Have?

How many and what type of credit cards should you have? The answer is not only highly individual but is also likely to evolve—with your finances, your spending, your knowledge and the credit offers available to you. Here are a few reasons however not to use them too much or not have more then 1 or 2 at maximum.

  • The Temptation to Overspend.
  • Interest Makes It Harder to Pay Off the Balance.
  • Risk of Getting Into Debt.
  • Risk of Ruining Your Credit Score.
  • Minimum Payments Can Create a False Sense of Security.
  • Confusing Credit Card Terms

At the end of the day I understand the argument for getting credit cards in particular rewards and improving your credit score, however be careful.

Hi! My name is Nima!

I have always been passionate about helping people with what I have learned from my own life experiences and over 20 years as an entrepreneur. I grew up with an immigrant family and was the first one to be born in the United States and in the beginning it seemed everyone to have money, but everyone seemed to have more money than we did. I realized at a very young age that money solves problems.

People are less stressed when the bills are paid. People have space to think when they aren’t stressed about money. And money gives people freedom in what you do with your time. I became obsessed with how people earned money, and launched more than a dozen “mini-businesses” before the age of thirteen. I learned that there is no secret to making money. Anyone can make money. All you need is a decent product and a customer who is willing to pay for it.

This doesn’t mean that you will make the amount of money you need to build the life you want, and it doesn’t mean you will enjoy the time you spend working on your business. This all means that you will quit probably doing your business long before its successful. They key to making lots of money is find something that you love doing more than anything in the world, and DOING it.

Building a business of your own requires you to invest tons of time in a dream that only you believe in. It can be overwhelming and frustrating and sometimes downright scary.

There is no secret road map to building a business around the work you love to do, but here are a few things I have learned over the years and I am more then happy to share with you.
